Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Says Economy Faces ‘Complete Collapse’

Sri Lanka’s prime minister stated its indebted financial system confronted collapse after months of double-digit inflation, rolling energy blackouts and acute shortages in meals and medicines.

“We are now facing a far more serious situation beyond the mere shortages of fuel, gas, electricity and food,” Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe stated on Wednesday. “Our economy has faced a complete collapse.”
